Gentle Swimming: Wings on Water

A step-by-step program designed for adults who can stay afloat but struggle with the deep end, quick fatigue, or water anxiety. Through 6 gradual sessions (5 in the pool + 1 in natural open water) in mini-groups, you will overcome fear, master proper breathing, learn backstroke and breaststroke.

Programme overview

A clear pathway from the current level to the next useful step.

Step-by-Step Curriculum:

Session 1: Confidence & Breathing (Pool)

Overcoming fear and water anxiety. Mastering proper inhalation/exhalation, relaxation, and achieving 100% comfortable resting on top of the water using "Starfish" float and "water plank" techniques.

Session 2: Backstroke & Gliding (Pool)

Effortless long-distance movement. Learn how to rest on your back while in motion, train a smooth rhythmic kick, and develop gentle, steady strokes.

Session 3: Breaststroke & Balance (Pool)

Learn essential breaststroke mechanics: leg kick coordination, glide technique, and rhythm. Develop strong body balance and core control while on your stomach.

Session 4: Style Transitions & Stamina (Pool)

Bringing it all together. Practice transitioning smoothly between backstroke and breaststroke, build breath-hold comfort, and enjoy stress-free interval swimming.

Session 5: Open Water Tech & Orientation (Pool)

Simulated open water conditions inside the pool. Learn sighting and navigation techniques, adapt to low-visibility water, and master basic self-rescue skills.

Session 6: Open Water — Adaptation & Experience (Lake / Sea)

The ultimate milestone! Put your skills to the test in real natural conditions with currents and waves while practicing sighting, navigation, and essential self-rescue techniques.

Course Outcomes:

Conquer deep-water fear, learn to rest and breathe effectively while in motion, master two versatile stroke styles, and gain your first safe, confident open water experience under expert supervision.
